City of Warrenton

Warrenton, the county seat of Warren County, was incorporated as a town on December 8, 1810. The city and the county are named for General Joseph Warren, a Revolutionary War hero who was killed in the Battle of Bunker Hill.

The Burkhalter Home, located in Warrenton, is said to be the first colonial home in Warrenton built around 1778. The Warren County courthouse, built in 1909 and the Confederate Monument are centerpieces of this city.
